Ex Libris, part of Clarivate, is excited to announce that the University of Pavia in Italy will extend their strong relationship with Ex Libris with Alma and Primo as their library management and discovery systems to be implemented in their libraries.
With a long history of working with Ex Libris SFX, the University of Pavia has decided to transition to Alma for their electronic library management system, accompanied by Primo for their discovery needs. Combining the library services and electronic resource management (ERM) from Alma with the patron-facing search and discovery interface from Primo will enable Pavia to provide a holistic library experience to their students and users across all data types – physical, electronic and digital, while boosting librarians’ efficiency and productivity.
Alma, library management system, a cloud-based library services platform, will serve as the backbone of the library operations, enhancing their existing services and capabilities, including reporting opportunities made available through Alma’s Analytics, management of trials, licenses and vendor information, and management of the full lifecycle of every kind of electronic resource. It is designed to streamline workflows, provide seamless access to library materials, and also offers flexible options for resource management support from selection to activation, including informed-decision making through collection analysis and analytics tools.
Primo, library discovery service, a discovery and delivery platform, will provide the University of Pavia’s students and patrons with a single interface for searching, discovering and accessing library resources. Primo’s intuitive search interface and relevance ranking algorithms ensure that users can quickly find the materials they need, regardless of format or location.
